Better Laser Results

Anti agingBarrierManuka honey

I'm Dr. Adam Geyer — board-certified dermatologist and Chief Dermatologist at AUNU.

At my practice in New York, non-ablative laser treatments are among the most effective procedures we use to improve tone, texture, and overall skin quality. These treatments work by creating controlled injury in the skin to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin. But in the process, they temporarily compromise the skin barrier — leading to redness, inflammation, and sensitivity.

That's why post-procedure care is just as important as the treatment itself.

Traditionally, dermatologists recommend simple moisturizers like CeraVe or Cetaphil — formulas designed to hydrate and protect without introducing actives that could irritate healing skin. These products are safe, but they may not be the most comprehensive option for aftercare.

AUNU's formulas are powered by proprietary Comvita MediHoney™ — a medical-grade Mānuka honey used in clinical wound care that not only hydrates, but also calms inflammation, supports microbial balance, and provides antioxidant protection while the barrier repairs itself.

For post-procedure, I recommend a simple barrier-supportive AUNU routine:

First 48 hours — focus on calming and protection. Cleanse gently with the Mānuka Cleanser, a non-stripping gel-to-foam formula, and apply the Mānuka Salve liberally to soothe inflammation and protect compromised skin.

After 48 hours — once sensitivity begins to subside, layer in additional support. Add the Mānuka Essence to replenish hydration and support barrier recovery, followed by the Mānuka Cream to lock in moisture and reinforce the skin barrier. Every other day, use the Mānuka Mask as a targeted treatment to help reduce redness, support microbial balance, and enhance overall recovery.

The bottom line: when you properly support the skin as it heals, your laser results don't just look better — they last longer.
